An image that brings an appropriate memory to mind for freewriting (picture, magazine image, printout...)
Pen
Journal
Book

Remember who is in your groups - you will stay with the same people through the first paper being written.

My Office Hours have changed from the syllabus - please scratch out what is there and here is the new time: Monday 2-3pm, Wednesday 2-4pm, Friday 12-1

We took 10 mins to free-write about the image and the memory that accompanied it.
We then worked on the list of 35 (pg. 29 as reference) memories in journals. Then chose the top 3, and then the top one to work with.
Assignment page was handed out along with format.
A rough summary of your chosen topic is due on Monday (pg. 31 for help).

We will be going back into our groups from friday - but breaking them down even farther to keep them at 3 per group.

We read the story, 'the Thrill of Victory . . . The Agony of Parents' from our book in pages 18-20. Then at the end of the story we journaled responses to Exploring Ideas #s 1,2,4 and 5 and Writing Strategies #s 3 & 5.

For friday - have an image that will bring a memory to mind
